From 2001, Clarissa investigated topics related to the biotech industry, i.e. relationships between biotech companies and pharmas, the economic environment that promotes the growth of the life science industry, and the development of orphan drugs. 


In 2004 she joned Abcam, a UK company selling antibodies for research, as its first Marketing Manager North America. At Abcam, she grew sales in the USA, preparing marketing materials, planning conferences and tradeshows, and talking to clients to understand their needs. She was promoted to Marketing Manager America, being responsible for identifying and training distributors in South America, China, and Korea.


In 2007 she moved to Philadelphia where she worked in technology transfer at the University of Pennsylvania and then The Fox Chase Cancer Center. She managed a portfolio of technologies from 36 investigators and physicians and was in charge of evaluating new inventions, licensing both technologies and tangible research materials (antibodies, cell lines, transgenic mice). She has negotiated license agreements, research material agreements, industry-sponsored research agreements and option agreements.


At the end of 2016, after 20 years of living in the US, she returned to Italy and joined the Bioindustry Park, Ivrea, Torino, as its Head of Technology Transfer. In this role, she evaluates new inventions from the University of Torino and from small enterprises,and  she assists in the patenting and licensing process. She has also performed valuations of patents and technologies, market research, patentability opinions, and scouting activities. 


Since May 2018 she has been a consultant for different organizations (Bugnion a patent law firm based in Milano, and Pharma Quality Europe, a consulting company based in Reggello, Firenze) where she performs technology evaluation and valuation, market research, scouting, activities of licensing (in and out), and patentability opinions. 


In this role, she evaluates new inventions from the University of Torino and from small enterprises, she assists in the patenting process and in the licensing process.
