Joe Smith is a senior life sciences business development and strategy executive with more than 20 years of experience helping biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies identify opportunities, develop growth strategies and negotiate transactions. His background combines corporate leadership, strategic advisory work and capital markets analysis, with experience spanning early-stage biotechnology, commercial specialty pharmaceuticals and contract development and manufacturing. Joe combines scientific training with commercial, strategic, and financial expertise, supporting companies from opportunity assessment and valuation through due diligence, negotiation and transaction execution.
 

Joe has held senior strategy and business development positions at public companies like Impel, Valeant, EyePoint, and OncoSec as well as private equity backed companies like Adare (TPG) and Aton (Cerberus).  His work has covered acquisitions, divestitures, licensing, research collaborations and financing strategy across ophthalmology, oncology, neuroscience, dermatology, rare diseases and other therapeutic areas. He founded BioVerity Partners in 2023 to provide strategic transaction advice and fractional executive and financing support.
